Marc Lauzon is president of MXL Geotec

With 30 years of experience in geotecnical engineering, Marc has a solid experience in  this field.

Since 1996, he has specialized in ground improvement techniques. He supervized over 300 dynamic compaction projects, from small ones, like Tim Hortons and convenience stores, to large one like dam foundation and large commercial buildings. From shallow compaction, 2-3 metres to very deep (10 -14 m).

He also acquired practical experience in vibro techniques, like vibro-compaction and vibro-stone columns. He supervized the vibro-compaction of the foundation soils of the Peribonka dams in Northern Quebec. This project needed up to 6 vibro rigs working day and night for 5 months to densify the soils to a maximum depth of 53 m. This treatment was required to densify  the foundation of a 75 m high earth and rockfill dam on the Peribonka River.
